Just a quick line
Hey all,
Just a quick note this week, and actually written then dashed off, instead of written and canned the night before. We finally finished the last of the packing, (nine U-boxes, ugh) turned in the modem and stuff to Xfinity (who now has even less open time in brick and mortar to do it, the fuckers don’t open until 11! so unless we just can’t get a good sat link, I’ll never go back to cables Star link for the win.)
We put Bremerton in our rear view mirror at about 3 pm, on Wednesday. By 6:30 or so, Washington was behind us. We stopped last night in Oregon City Oregon, to visit with my brother’s widow for a couple days, and tomorrow will see us on the road headed for the kid’s house. Going to take that drive without pushing hard, about 6-8 hour days. We’ll be in Tennessee in early August.
Just before leaving, we went out with the Lodge to see the new Superman, and I’m pleased to say it was worth seeing. They didn’t Woke it up, everything was pretty strait to cannon. It wasn’t the Best Superman ever, (that’s probably Chris Reeves version) but if you need a couple hours away from the rat race, it’s worth your time.
I wish my brothers of the lodges of Washington all the best of things, and my brothers and sisters in service there all the best as well. As for the rest of the state, may you all get what you deserve, for good and for ill. It was a beautiful place once, it could be again, but it will take the sort of revolution that Reagan ran to do it, and I just don’t see that happening. Here’s an example of why: https://www.thecentersquare.com/washington/article_9a847a3b-c526-46dc-bffd-b70dddfbf9c0.html?utm_source=washington.thecentersquare.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=rss_first_item_title&_bhlid=128ef6a25d9198bbc57768f4d77bd5f67f565e52 (lead is “As Washington state grapples with a potential fiscal crisis by 2027, the Legislature this session allocated $150 million to fund a Medicaid-style program offering healthcare to illegal aliens.
It's a spending discretion that one lawmaker is criticizing given that the state has chronically undercompensated medical providers of Medicaid patients, while a top ranking legislator argues expanded access to healthcare avoids overwhelming emergency services and facilities.)
As for me and mine, we will view the place as a cautionary tale.
There’s been a lot happening in the political realm, and I just don’t have the time to cover it properly, so that sort of thing will just have to wait until we’re done with the drive.
I will note that Hunter’s little temper tantrum is probably going to have fall out way beyond what he envisioned, if he envisioned anything; that boy’s brain has been so fried by drugs as to make the Late Ozzy look stable and eloquent. Between that and the continuing fallout from Epstein, some of which is probably real, some of which is just more of the latest version of the “Russia-gate” Steele dossier attempts to throw enough shit on the wall that some of it will stick.
Matt Taibbi has been doing some really good stuff on the original “Russia-gate” I’ll recommend that you go take a look at it, and a starter can be found here:
That’s not Taibbi, but it give’s you a sample of what’s going on. I can’t link directly to Matt’s stuff, it’s behind a pay wall.
If you missed it, here’s a little humorous piece: https://nypost.com/2025/07/18/us-news/california-illegal-immigrant-yuriana-calderon-faked-ice-kidnapping-for-fundraiser-scam-and-to-smear-federal-agents-doj/
If I had the time, I could do an entire article on this next little bit. Remember that we keep being told that “twenty one year old’s brains aren’t fully formed, so they aren’t really responsible even at twenty one for their decisions”? Oh and eighteen year olds are still kids, so we shouldn’t let them have booze, and other mind altering substances, and shouldn’t hold them responsible as an adult… (Funny how the same people that sing this song also think that a 7 year old can decide that they’re the wrong sex, and get their marriage tackle reversed…)
Well it seems that in the face of all this, Formerly Great Britain just dropped their voting age to sixteen. No I’m not kidding.
Also in news from across the pond, I saw yesterday, briefly, and have not had the chance to follow up, that the Irish may have had enough of the bullshit from invading Muslims. A gang of them raped a little girl over the weekend. On Tuesday night, a bunch of the boarding houses full of them got torched. Possibly while occupied. I don’t know a lot, and the source on this is a fairly radical group, so I wouldn’t take it as gospel, but…
On the Maritime front, I see where in the aftermath of the latest “ship catching fire and eventually sinking due to Electric vehicles on board starting the fire” one of the largest shipping firms in the world, Matson, has said they will no longer carry EVs or plug in hybrids due to the danger. If this becomes a trend, that’s going to really be a kick in the balls for both the greenies, and the PRC. Oh gosh, what a shame.
Well, I need to get this on the street before it gets any later. Talk again soon.
QOTD: “It has been a source of great pain to me to have met with so many among [my] opponents who had not the liberality to distinguish between political and social opposition; who transferred at once to the person, the hatred they bore to his political opinions.”
—Thomas Jefferson (1808)
