Welcome back to the Scuttlebutt. Dinner tonight is Pizza at Farrelli’s, my Brother by another’s birthday is tonight, so… They have great pizza and great booze, I recommend them.
Look, I know you guys are sick of politics, so am I. That said, there’s a quote from the movie Constantine, with Keanu Reeves (if you haven’t seen it, you really should, great flick.)
Angela Dodson: “I don't believe in the Devil.”
John Constantine: “You should. He believes in you.”
Well, politics is the same way, and often just as evil. I wish I could say that this will be my last political post for this election, but I don’t think that we’ll know the results by next Thursday, and I do think there will be shenanigans worth mentioning no mater how the election falls out. Gods know we’re seeing enough of them already. More on that later.
As always, please notice the cup at the tip jar Where we restock the bar. While you can do a paid subscription here at Sub stack, and it’s a welcome donation, Stripe (the folks that handle the money for sub stack) get a BIG cut. The Tip jar money all goes straight to me. Ready? Let’s begin!
My big concern is that the left in particular has painted themselves into a corner. This isn’t a conspiracy theory, this is fact. If you look at the major news sources, they’re all using the exact same words every time they talk about Trump or those that support him. Words like “Donald Trump has shown more hostility to American democracy than any other president in the country’s history. He tried to overturn an election result. He celebrates political violence”, “Threat to democracy”, “Fascist”, “Weaponizing the Department of Justice”, “Trash”, “Nazi”, and more.
When you combine that with the absolute melt down of various leftist heroes; like Whoopie Goldberg, who seemed to shock even her fellow morons on The View with the sheer vitriol she spewed about how Trump is not only going to do concentration camps, but make the women in Mixed marriages leave the country and force the men to re marry inside their own race…
Seriously? First, where the fuck does she get this fantasy, and second, how do you walk back from that? MSNBC had a similar meltdown, (Madcow and company tying Trumps rally in Madison Square Garden directly to the Nazi party rally in 38, meanwhile carefully ignoring some of the people who attended that rally…)
We’re seeing stunts like a Democratic official (Pam Janvey who works for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party as a paid employee) turning people away from ballot lines for early voting telling them “Balloting is closed for the day, you will have to come back some other time.” (Needless to say, she was not authorized by the state to do this.) pennsylvania-early-voting-issues-spark-maga-fury-election-interference/
Democrats blocking the creation of Emergency Voting sites in traditionally Republican Counties in North Carolina, after the normal site was straight up destroyed by Helene. democrats-in-north-carolinas-helene-disaster-area-block-emergency-early-voting-locations/ While at the same time approving them in Democratic Counties.
Thousands of fake voters registering in in Pennsylvania counties, all with the same handwriting, same signatures, fake addresses… (currently staring in a few state indictments, because even though it’s a federal crime, the DOJ can’t seem to care.)
Burning ballot boxes with thermite bombs in Washington and Oregon, notably in conservative leaning islands in a sea of Democrats.
Ballots found in storm drains in CA, and FL, on the highway in the middle of Florida after they ‘fell off the truck’ (didn’t that used to be a euphemism for stolen goods by the mob?) In a dumpster in KY, and in the dead letter bin in PA, (among other places) all of which brings to the forefront the question “If you’re not willing to mail yourself a $100 bill, trusting the US mail to get it to you, why do you trust the mail with your ballot?”
Then of course, there’s that little detail of two attempted assassinations before Trump is even in office…
I’m just not sure how the people behind the curtain think they’re going to walk back all the hate and calls to violence if Trump wins. I suspect they’re not going to try, and this stuff all becomes part of the chapter in the high school history book called “Events leading up to.” Much like “Bloody Kansas, and the Harper’s Ferry Raid” were in a chapter with that title back when I was in high school (See Mr. Foster, I was paying attention.)
Once you’ve goaded the horse hard enough, all the pulling back on the rains in the world isn’t going to make that nag stop. When you have your followers deathly afraid, they’re going to continue to be afraid no matter what you say, and most humans, at base level run on the program “It scares me, kill it!”
And the trouble is, if Harris is announced as the winner, all of this stuff brings the veracity of the election into so much question that the Republicans are just as liable to revolt in ways that are so far beyond that protest on Jan 6 as to make it look like a sternly worded letter to the editor.
In fact, let’s mention the Jan 6 riots for just a second, as those are constant Democrat talking points. According to the Seattle Times, which claims to be an independent Newspaper (More on that shit later) but seems to mostly run shit written by their “Totally not our owners, and pretend you don’t see that leather collar with the ball gag on it, stamped ‘New York Times’ bitch!’”
In an article penned by their daddy paper, “Trump addressed thousands of his loyalists on Jan. 6, 2021, before they stormed the U.S. Capitol in one of the darkest days of modern history.” two-closing-arguments-show-the-stark-choice-between-trump-and-harris
That “darkest day in modern history” didn’t have any weapons except the ones on the cops’ belts. It didn’t have any dead cops, no matter what the MSM would have you believe. The only cop that died, died days later from a stroke. He didn’t have a stroke there, and even if he had, it’s not the protester’s fault that he loved his Dunkin’ Donuts a little too much. Four cops later swallowed their service weapons… (possibly in guilt?)
The only people that died on Jan 6 were protesters. Two from heart attacks, one from an amphetamine OD, and one who was shot dead by a pathetic excuse for a cop, who was in civilian clothes, and such a ‘Paul Blart’ that he had recently gotten in trouble for forgetting his pistol in the shitter on Capitol Hill, only for it to be found by some kid.
Say her fucking name, Democrats: Ashli Babbitt, USAF Veteran. The cop was exonerated of any wrongdoing, because of course he was.
Ignore for a second the heated rhetoric about “stormed the Capital” and just look at the timeline. Trump was speaking at the Grassy Ellipse at the same time that the Jan 6 protest was going on. No, he did not send them to do it, they were doing it as he spoke about showing restraint while fighting for your rights.
DO NOT ignore the fact that the protesters showed up unarmed, in spite of being the party of all us gun nuts, the party of the “III Percenters” and the “Oath Keepers” both of which are made up of vets, cops, and other people trained in the use of violence to resolve problems.
I wonder if the people pulling the strings actually took the right lesson from Jan 6.
The lesson they took was “protesters can be tracked down afterwards. Trumped up charges (pardon the pun) can be written, and because we own D.C. in fee simple, we can get anyone we really want prosecuted slammed in prison. We own you, bitches.”
A different lesson could also be learned, though. A lesson that many on the right took from these events.
“Better to be butchered for a goat than a sheep. If they’re going to steal the election, mere protests won’t change anything, and we’ll be charged as if we had shown up with rifles and torches. Next time let’s do what we’re being charged with.”
It’s not that I’m advocating for that, I’m NOT. I can, however see the writing on the wall. There are a lot of people on the right that believe that if this election doesn’t end up with a Trump specifically and Republican generally victory, that it’s “game over man.” They believe that there will never be another honest election in this nation, and we’ll be seeing the sorts of elections that communist states the world over see.
If I truly believed that, I would be on the firing line myself, come the day.
There are some people that are trying to walk some of this shit back. The LA Times, and The Washington Post, have both famously decided not to endorse a candidate. Bezos (W.P’s owner) claims that he’s doing this to try and restore a belief that the paper is non biased and try and win back some of the credibility that the mainstream press has lost.
Well, Jeff, I am afraid that ship sailed a long time ago. I think (based on the editorial slant that you’re still exhibiting, even as you make this statement) that what you’re really trying to do is: 1) hedge your bets, for fear that Trump will win by an un-cheatable margin, and 2) try to tone down the rhetoric a little bit, because you realize that you have all gone to far.
Of course that ship has sailed too, but hey at least you’re trying.
The SCOTUS is trying too, in their own way. supreme-court-allows-virginia-to-resume-its-purge-of-voter-registrations/ Virginia ordered the Voter Registration purged of aliens. The Democrats sued saying ‘it’s too close to the elections, you should wait until after the election and then show harm.’ Last time, in AZ the suit claimed ‘It’s after the election and it would be unfair to change it now, you should have complained before the election.’ In both cases the claim was “that’s not timely” when what they meant was “that might cause us to lose.” The Dems lost their suit.
Not to be biased, SCOTUS also allowed Michigan and Wisconsin to keep RFK on the ballot even though he’s withdrawn from the race, because he didn’t withdraw in time. The Democrats want to keep him on the ballot in the hopes that he’ll split the vote. I doubt that will happen, or if it does, he’s just as likely to split the Democrat vote as the Republican one. He is a Kennedy after all, and until very recently was a Democrat. (from the royal family of the DNC) I could see him getting a fair number of Muslim votes as a protest against Biden and Harris having the audacity to support the Jews, instead of the good baby killing terrorist Palestinians. Those folks are not likely to vote for Trump no matter what, so either the Green party, or RFK is liable to get their vote.
But while Bezos, SCOTUS, and Soon-Shiong (the owner of the LA Times) are trying to lower the temperature nationally, others are not.
“Like the Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post, The Seattle Times is an independent newspaper. Unlike those bastions of news, we are unafraid to take a stand on the presidential election”, write Seattle Times publisher Frank Blethen and opinion page editor Kate Riley. And they go on to vilify Trump, as a felon, rapist, Nazi dictator in waiting, echoing their master the NYT:
“We were pleased The New York Times joined our editorial board in endorsing Kamala Harris. In fact, NYT Opinion doubled down, making a dramatic statement by filling the front of its Sunday section with just 23 words. In large, bold type, the NYT editorial board made this indictment:
DONALD TRUMP SAYS HE WILL
PROSECUTE HIS ENEMIES
ORDER MASS DEPORTATIONS
USE SOLDIERS AGAINST CITIZENS
ABANDON ALLIES
PLAY POLITICS WITH DISASTERS
BELIEVE HIM.
Trump has become shameless in his pronouncements of his plans and his denouncements of so many Americans. He can only set the country back and put our nation at risk.”
This is in an article that spends the first seven paragraphs telling us at great length how “independent and family owned” they are, how gloriously “private and beholden to no one” they are, “My Great-grandfather founded” bla bla bla. “We take our journalism and community service very seriously” bla bla bla. Ignore the leather straps, the ball gag and the leash, we’re totally our own organization, and we have the NYT’s permission to say so! And we demand you vote for Harris, and a straight Democratic ticket! We’re totally not a farm team for the NYT. TOTALLY.
Kiss. My. Ass.
The whole thing is becoming more and more irrelevant as bloggers, independents (like yours surly) and other ‘nontraditional media sources’ become more and more relevant, taking eyes away from the MSM. Seth Rogan ate all of the MSM’s lunch recently with his unscripted 3-hour long interview with Trump.
Twenty-six million viewers.
Three and a half times as many viewers as 60 Minutes which had seven point two million viewers last week; that’s up from their usual ratings. They’re the kings of MSM when it comes to ratings, no one else comes close.
The Bad Cat (El Gato Malo) had a great piece on it, at The Bonfire of Media (and Political) Vanities @ Bad Cattitude I recommend it. I think he’s a little optimistic about how fast MSM is going to go away, but time will tell. Under any circumstance, they’re circling the drain.
I did see one thing that I’m pleased to report about, as it relates to elections:
Nebraska has a great way to ensure that they don’t have ‘problematic’ election workers. They don’t hire them, they DRAFT them. Just like jury duty, you get a summons, and failure to show up comes with a fine. Just like jury duty, it’s state law that your employer must give you paid time off to do the work, and just like jury duty, you get paid for it, minimum wage ($12 an hour there.) You can get out of it by being over 70, have documented health issues, some other reasons like that, and if you’re the parent of a young child you can get a deferment. There is one other way to get out of it… Remove yourself from the voter registration rolls. This is the ultimate ‘don’t vote, don’t bitch.’
This technique also helps to get people that are more computer savvy, according to Nebraska officials, and ensures a more diverse set of poll workers in a job that is usually filled by retirees.
GO HUSKERS!
CDR Salamander had a couple of really good articles recently, that I commend to your attention:
and
Texas has some really valid questions for Harris in her position as “border tzar” Seems that some poor Texan was run over by a drunken Illegal alien, which is a more frequent occurrence than you might suspect… But this one, Jorge Peralta, has already been deported twice, before being allowed deferred prosecution by the Biden administration. https://texasscorecard.com/state/texans-press-ice-for-answers-after-intoxicated-illegal-alien-caused-fatal-collision/ Senator Cruz would like some answers.
In other news, an outfit called Oklo Inc. got permission to build their first micro reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory west of Idaho Falls. It’s fully automatic, and uses waste fuel rods through a recovery system to make the fuel. They load it, and drop it on your site, it runs at 90% efficiency for up to 20 years, then they come back and put in a new fuel module. Direct output is 1.5 megawatts, and waste heat that can drive a desalinization plant, or anything else (refineries, greenhouses, heat your swimming pool…) Look for this thing to wind up in any remote town, or military base in the world soon. https://newatlas.com/energy/oklo-aurora-nuclear-microreactor-idaho/
If you missed it, some Cracker ran off with 22 tons of Cheese. No kidding, some muenster ran off with $390,000 worth of award winning Cheddar cheese in London. cheddar-cheese-theft-london-neals-yard-dairy- Police are stuck, bound up, but it’s believed to be a provolone job. (Yeah, it was cheesy, what did you expect?)
The DOJ finally woke up and charged Congresswoman Grace Meng of acting an unregistered agent of the People’s Republic of China. dem-congresswoman-was-a-fixture-at-events-honoring-chinese-communist-party-officials It appears that she has been working as an operative for the PRC intelligence agency since 2008 or before. The ridiculous piece of all this, is that it’s open-source news reports from the PRC that they’re using to help nail her ass. Most of it from back in 2017-2019. Yet they’ve allowed this commie bitch to continue to be a congresswoman for all this time.
And the DOJ wonders why I have absolutely no respect for them. Of course they’ve been busy running down Jan-6 protesters, so… You know, an enemy intelligence operative might slip through their fingers now and then.
One final note, we went and watched ‘Venom The Last Dance’ over the weekend. I’m pleased to say the thing is about as un Woke as you can get in the entertainment field these days. My Son-in-Law, who’s more up on comics than I am, says it followed cannon pretty closely. Good show, I give it five bullets from my six gun. Do yourself a favor, if you aren’t deeply into the comic books, re watch the first two first, because otherwise you are going to have a hard time with a few spots. I found myself a couple of times going “who the hell is that?” Still, good show, go see it.
QOTD "I am worried that we will blow this opportunity to finally turn the page on the ugliness." —Michelle Obama. Michelle, you left the White House eight years ago. We turned the page on your ugliness in 2016, go back to where ever you hang out these days.
Yours in Service,
William Lehman

That was Whoopi Goldberg.
