" you will keep the old, more polluting one, running for ever."

Well, until China stops supplying the electronics that engine depends on.....

and then you find a way to wire around it. There is an entire industry that makes new "everything but the engine and transmission" for tractor trailer rigs, to get around the California laws. You think that won't happen again with billions of dollars on the line? To misquote Jurassic park "The economy... finds a way."

I agree.... as long as it's allowed to. Do they have vehicle inspections where you live?

no. Nor where I'm planning to relocate to. In fact I would not live anywhere that has them. Funny thing though... Fully automatic weapons are illegal too, and yet they're around. Bombs are illegal, and yet... When the laws are stupid, Americans ignore them.

And yet, it happens. The point is, my friend, that laws don't do a damn thing if people

want something. Prohibition has never, and will never work in this nation. Consider heroin something that is almost universally agreed to be a bad thing. Yet I know where I could go and get an 8ball right now (former cop, the dealers don't move much, and they're out of jail before we can write the report) how impossible do you think stopping nanna and Pappa from keeping their RV running is going to be? Now take that number for impossibility and square it, you are now close.
